Dangal Is Not less than a Poetry on Silver Screen

“What poetry!” was the first thought passed through my mind after watching opening 10 mins of Dangal.

Few days back, I wasn’t able to plump that should I watch this movie or not. I am not fan of Amir Khan but yes, his prodigy in marketing and cinema making makes him virtuoso. If he gets a worthy team, he can take the eminence of cinema presented to a new level. If he gets second-rate mates then he can twist the fate with his skills of marketing and media management. Indeed, he is a whiz kid but probably not the preeminent actor. I know, my previous line will not win the preponderance but that is my personal opinion.

Poster of Movie Dangal
Falling back, to the movie ‘Dangal’, in starting ten minutes itself I was mighty mesmerised with the initial plot, drama and direction. But in Indian cinema, most of the movie starts on an imposing note but ends as a cataclysm. The next thought was, ‘God! Is it going to linger like this or I will end up in another disappointment’.

The movie is inspired from true life happenings of National level wrestler Shri Mahavir Phogat and the feat accomplished by his elder daughter Gita Phogat. The story starts from a small hamlet of Haryana, and sequentially unfolds the reality of Indian sports, social issues in Haryana, women empowerment and a journey which is rousing, close to veracity which is shimmering hard work of comprehensive squad of Dangal.

The Child actress playing role of Gita Phogat and Babita Phogat

The child actors portraying characters of teenaged Gita and Babita have executed luminously. Their elder transformation was not as extraordinary as these kids were on silver screen. May be both the kids had raised the canons which the adult actors playing role of Gita and Babita were not able to match up.

The child actress played role of Gita Phogat (Real Name: Sanya Malhotra)

The sport bearing is perfect, they have worked hard on the wrestling moves and thespians were able to play it well. It is another feather of this grotesque prose which wasn’t possible without the effort and hard work of whole dangal team.

Best thing about the movie is that everyone has done justice with their roles. Amir Khan hasn’t taken all the lime light and has given chance to the flair.

I haven’t revealed the story of this movie because I strongly have faith in that one should watch this movie at least once. This is unsurpassed sports movie ever made in Indian cinema and it will become a stepping stone in Indian Cinema. Audience were ovation with each wrestling move of Gita Phogat. Everyone’s eyes were stick to silver screen to see the next twist and the next turn.

From Left in sequence: NITESH TIWARI, GEETA PHOGAT, BABITA PHOGAT, AMIR KHAN, SHRI MAHAVIR PHOGAT

My peculiar rating for this movie is 4 stars. I am not grading it with 5 stars because there is a small slice of the movie where acting wasn’t that good. It is surely movie of the year and I won’t be flabbergasted if it will get timetabled from India in the foreign language class of Oscars.

The Battle of Longewala

After drifting for approximately thousand kilometers from Alwar, I have reached Longewala. This place romanticizes me allot. The battle of Longewala a legend in itself. It is located at 120 kms from city of Jaisalmer. Only way to reach this place is boulevard and if you are tourist then you have to hire a cab. Longewala is prevalent because of the illustrious skirmish tussled between India and Pakistan in 1971. The clash of Longewala is all about how hundred odd men clogged and overwhelmed approximately 2000 Pakistani legionnaires. This battle was all about the audacity, impetus, chauvinism and drive to prizefight exhibited by those eighty Indian warriors. This scuffle is one of my favorite scuffles, and whenever I come to this place, my mind start envisaging how horde of men repudiated the destiny. During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, A-Coy of 23 Punjab had taken up the defences at Longewala. The A-Coy company commander was Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri later on emer...

IS THIS TRUTH OR ANOTHER COMEDY BY PAKISTAN ARMY????

Kashmir War 1947 - 49 By November 1947 Auchinleck, Supreme Commander based in New Delhi, being convinced that Indian Cabinet was seeking to destroy and undo Pakistan by economic and military means, was forced to resign. As the build-up of Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir continued, Pakistan Army units were being hurriedly organized and equipped without any base for manufacture of ammunition, signal stores, equipment or vehicles. Simultaneously, Pakistan National Guards were raised from ex-servicemen and other volunteers along border areas to provide a second line of defence. By February 1948 Indian build up in Jammu and Kashmir reached five brigades plus, under two full-fledged division Headquarters. Our 101 Brigade, commanded by Brigadier Akbar Khan was rushed into the critical front to forestall and halt the Indian offensive along Uri-Muzaffarabad axis. In April 1948, Commander-in-Chief Pakistan Army appreciating the threats in the north along Muzaffarabad-Kohala...

Mission Accomplishment Paramount Even as IAF Initiates ODS Alternatives in Weapon Systems The Indian Air Force (IAF) is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to combat ozone depletion including limiting the use of Halon to mission critical uses, tighter control laws and incorporating accountability towards phase-out of ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances) said Air Chief Marshal PV Naik while delivering the inaugural address at the two-day International Workshop on ‘Benefits of ODS Phase-out in Defence Forces’ organized by Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), today. Air Chief Marshal P.V.
