You Dream it and You Get it

Here I was composing my next blog post; night navigation techniques and new developments which can be made by Indian Army. To crop an interesting article out of lacklustre topic is a difficult job. May be to you night navigation may sound cool but after doing it for so many times, you don’t want to express but you will wish to do it again.

Anoop at Maxis Toastmasters Club

I took a break; switched to Facebook and here again my friend Anoop uploaded one of his pictures from toastmasters. This time he was speaking on ‘You dream it. You get it’. Interesting, isn’t it?

What is dream?

Dream is a visualisation which is out of bound because of your present proficiency and set of skills which you have acquired. This means, when you have this vision, you actually cannot accomplish it. Something which is higher than your eminence is a dream.

Now you may say that I have gone cleft. I don’t want you to think like that and I will support my statement with an example. Just imagine there is a kid who is eleven years old. Now he dreams to be a fighter jet pilot. Use your logic at this point;

1. He doesn’t have required qualification.

2. He cannot fulfil the average criteria set in the whole world to be a fighter jet pilot.

3. I suppose, he even doesn’t possess the fitness level.

Difference between Dream and Goal

1. The main difference between the both is that dream is the expedition which you haven’t started and you are not aware about the itinerary of this journey.

2. Goal is the other type of journey in which you are standing on the starting line, aware about the route and distance, planned well and it is within your ability.

How you can achieve the dream?

It is not at all a big deal to fulfil your dreams. Now you will say, ‘RAUL SODAT NAJWA look at the above lines you have written, I don’t have the required competency to achieve it’. My friend then why you don’t and generate the competence? Include the skill set which is required to take you one step ahead towards your dream.

PLAN! PLAN!! PLAN!!!

The first step to achieve the dream is planning. Detailed planning which explains every single step which you need to take to move towards that huge DREAM.

INITIATIVE

Next step is taking initiative of taking action. If you will keep on waiting for someone else who will accompany you on your glorious journey, then you are biggest fool. He may snatch your dream and you will be standing at a far distance watching him taking away your trophy of dreams. Initiative should be yours, individually. You have seen the dream, learn to get it on your own. You can use him as resource but not as a partner. Oops, just gave you a golden rule.

MAINTENANCE OF INITIATIVE

Initiative taken can become initiative lost, if you don’t maintain the momentum. Maintenance of initiative is equally important as taking initiative. You just need to keep moving on the right path with minus error and supplementary results.

THE LAST STEP

The last step is the most important one. Most of the people become lazy while taking the last step, they think that they have reached the finish line, but it is the biggest mistake which one can made. My cross-country coach Mr Ratna Kumar always taught me that till the time I don’t cross the finish line, I can’t relax, the race isn’t over. It was the important lesson which helped me at the important junctions of my life. You never know, you relax and your opponent crosses you and takes away your fame.

MY CROSS-COUNTRY COACH Mr Ratna Kumar

EGO

Success is determined by the achievement of your dreams but never have ego. Make your new achievement as the jumping-jack to achieve higher dreams which is out of your reach. The day, ego enters in your head, it will not take time to take you to the doorsteps of defeat.

What about the kid?

The kid will first acquire the required qualification. Then he will plan for the selection and prepare for the same. If he fails, he introspects, include the missing skill set and come again. If he succeed then he introspect about the mistakes made which could have landed him in trouble, celebrate the success, now dream something bigger.

YOU DREAM IT! YOU GET IT!!

The Battle of Longewala

After drifting for approximately thousand kilometers from Alwar, I have reached Longewala. This place romanticizes me allot. The battle of Longewala a legend in itself. It is located at 120 kms from city of Jaisalmer. Only way to reach this place is boulevard and if you are tourist then you have to hire a cab. Longewala is prevalent because of the illustrious skirmish tussled between India and Pakistan in 1971. The clash of Longewala is all about how hundred odd men clogged and overwhelmed approximately 2000 Pakistani legionnaires. This battle was all about the audacity, impetus, chauvinism and drive to prizefight exhibited by those eighty Indian warriors. This scuffle is one of my favorite scuffles, and whenever I come to this place, my mind start envisaging how horde of men repudiated the destiny. During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, A-Coy of 23 Punjab had taken up the defences at Longewala. The A-Coy company commander was Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri later on emer...

IS THIS TRUTH OR ANOTHER COMEDY BY PAKISTAN ARMY????

Kashmir War 1947 - 49 By November 1947 Auchinleck, Supreme Commander based in New Delhi, being convinced that Indian Cabinet was seeking to destroy and undo Pakistan by economic and military means, was forced to resign. As the build-up of Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir continued, Pakistan Army units were being hurriedly organized and equipped without any base for manufacture of ammunition, signal stores, equipment or vehicles. Simultaneously, Pakistan National Guards were raised from ex-servicemen and other volunteers along border areas to provide a second line of defence. By February 1948 Indian build up in Jammu and Kashmir reached five brigades plus, under two full-fledged division Headquarters. Our 101 Brigade, commanded by Brigadier Akbar Khan was rushed into the critical front to forestall and halt the Indian offensive along Uri-Muzaffarabad axis. In April 1948, Commander-in-Chief Pakistan Army appreciating the threats in the north along Muzaffarabad-Kohala...

INDIAN AIR FORCE ADOPTS 'GO GREEN TREND'

Mission Accomplishment Paramount Even as IAF Initiates ODS Alternatives in Weapon Systems The Indian Air Force (IAF) is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to combat ozone depletion including limiting the use of Halon to mission critical uses, tighter control laws and incorporating accountability towards phase-out of ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances) said Air Chief Marshal PV Naik while delivering the inaugural address at the two-day International Workshop on ‘Benefits of ODS Phase-out in Defence Forces’ organized by Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), today. Air Chief Marshal P.V. NAIK While highlighting initiatives taken by the IAF, and encouraging alternatives, the Air Chief however, clarified, “Mission accomplishment remains paramount for the Armed Forces. Substituting an ODS would only be done, if it doesn’t impinge on operational effectiveness of the system in question.” For new weapon systems in the pipeline, inclusion of a clause in RFPs for provision of alter...
