Yesterday, there was shift of power in the Indian Naval
headquarters. Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, AVSM has replaced Admiral R K
Pattanaik, PVSM, AVSM, YSM as deputy chief. Pattanaik retired after giving 38
years of glorious years to the nation.
Let us see the highlights of career of Vice Admiral Karambir
Singh, AVSM who has taken up as Deputy Chief of Indian Navy.
- The officer is proud alumnus of prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla.
- The officer was commissioned into Indian Navy in the year 1980.
- In the year 1982 he earned the wings as helicopter pilots.
- He has vast experience of flying helicopters such as Chetak, Kamov 25 and Kamov 28 anti-submarine helicopters.
- He has done staff college from Wellington.
- The officer is also graduate from college of naval warfare, Karanja.
- He has also the achievement of serving as DS (Directing Staff) in staff college and naval warfare college.
- The officer has also commanded Indian Coast Guard Ship Chandbibi, Guided Missile Destroyer Rana and Missile Vessel Vijaydurg.
- The officer was fleet operation officer of the Western fleet.
Now, the admiral is expected to
take the Indian navy ahead with his iconic leadership and vast operational
