Our Tribute to Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh, VSM

Another worthy Air Force officer retired after giving 37 years of valuable service. Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh VSM who was holding the appointment of AOC-in-C charge maintenance at Air force headquarters. The officer is retiring on Saturday 31 Oct 15.

The Air marshal belongs to Amritsar, Punjab and he was commissioned in electronics stream of Aero engineering branch in the Indian Air Force on 02 JUL 79. He is a graduate in electronics and communication engineering from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. He did M.Tech in integrated electronics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

In the year 1999, he was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal for his glorious service in the Indian Air Force. He has valuable experience in the aircraft maintenance and management, guided weapons and radars.

The officer is now planning to settle down in the beautiful city of Chandigarh after the retirement.

The Battle of Longewala

After drifting for approximately thousand kilometers from Alwar, I have reached Longewala. This place romanticizes me allot. The battle of Longewala a legend in itself. It is located at 120 kms from city of Jaisalmer. Only way to reach this place is boulevard and if you are tourist then you have to hire a cab. Longewala is prevalent because of the illustrious skirmish tussled between India and Pakistan in 1971. Recently Indian Government started a program to issue a unique identification to every citizen of the country which is now popularly known as Aadhar Card in India.
