Previous night I was viewing a motion picture known as ‘The
Pirates of Silicon Valley’. The title itself gives a clue that it is going to
be associated to the IT sector. As the movie starts we meet Steve Jobs played
by Noah Wyle. The solemnity of the story is Steve Jobs and his small journey of
starting the venture which is worldwide known and then getting fired from his
own company.
But this movie seems like more of anti-Microsoft propaganda.
If a movie has a villain then in this movie it is Bill Gates played by Anthony
Michael Hall. It shows how the idea of windows is inspired or in terms of movie
stolen from the apple.
The movie could be better by showing the parallel emergence
of both the rivals Microsoft and apple. But it was more the show off apple
incorporation trying their best to prove that they were the small pirate in Silicon
Valley, it was the Microsoft who exploited the friendship and trust of Steve
Jobs.
The story and direction, combined with background music is
not at all impressive. I feel that because of the story based on such great
personalities, the audience automatically start expecting good quality work,
but the harsh truth is that the movie overall is a huge disappointment of
hundred minutes.
