Three Main Reasons for India's Defeat in 1962 Indo-China War

In 1962, China was not in a position to win the war against India, and India was strong enough to confront China. Then what wrong in the winter of 1962 when India tasted a harsh defeat and lost the advantage to china which would have made lot of difference in 2012.

There are following three main reasons which ensured that India lost the tactical advantage over China:
1.       Government of India didn’t pay attention to the alarm raised by various commanders of army deployed in the northern borders. Their unconcerned attitude towards the People’s Liberation Army’s activity led to a heavy defeat.
2.       Indian Armed Forced lacked an effective leadership.
3.       Unfortunately, Indian Air Force was grounded at that time. Air Chief Marshal Browne also admitted that if Indian Air Force was included in the Indo-China war then the end result would have very different.
