Very few people are aware about a new feature which Gmail has recently introduced in email accounts. Now, Gmail account holder can easily send free SMSs to their friends or relatives. The best thing about Gmail free SMS service is that it is completely spam free. Unlike, other free SMS service providers; Gmail doesn’t allow spammers or advertisers to utilize this facility.

Follow these easy steps to start enjoying the new SMS service offered by Gmail

1. The first step is quite simple. Login in your account. If you are new to Gmail, then you can easily sign up and start enjoying these services.

2. You will see chat option in the left side of the mail box. In the chat box option, there will be a text box; you need to simply enter the number into the text box. Enter the mobile number on which you want to send SMS. There is no need to enter country code. Gmail will automatically identify the country code through your account information.

3. A new window will appear after you press enter. In this new window, you can save the phone number by giving the contact name.

4. Now, after saving the contact info, a simple chat window will appear. Now you don’t need to feed number again and again after sending SMS. You can chat with the person having mobile in the same manner in which you chat on GTalk. The person will receive SMS, and when she will reply then her message will appear in your chat window.

This facility is not available with Gtalk and you can only chat through your Gmail inbox.
