Ingredients:
To make Anise Bread at your home, you need to bring following ingredients from nearby store.
Two tsp. yeast, preferably dry yeast
One and a half tbsp. of sugar, those who are diabetic can prefer honey in place of sugar
Approximately three-fourth cup of Luke warm water, you can use little more as well.
Three and a half cups of flour
One and a half tsp. of salt
One egg
Two tbsp. of peanut or sunflower refined oil, and little more to grease the dough
Two tbsp. of Anise seeds
One egg yolk, it will be used to glaze the bread
Method:
Anise Bread is a very simple but delicious African recipe. Just follow these steps, to make tasty Anise Bread.
1. Dissolve two tsp. of yeast, half tsp. of sugar in half cup of Luke warm water.
2. Take approximately one cup of flour and strongly mix it until it become smooth.
3. Leave the dough for thirty minutes. After thirty minutes you will see that dough would become twice its size.
4. In a large bowl, add remaining flour, one and a half tsp. of salt, one egg, two tbsp. of peanut or sunflower refined oil, and two tbsp. of Anise seeds and mix it well.
5. Now, add the risen dough in the large bowl in which you had mixed the other ingredients.
6. Use your hands and add as much warm water required making the dough soft.
7. Work with your hands for next ten minutes until dough become very soft and elastic.
8. Add half tbsp. of oil in the bowl.
9. Now grease the dough by rolling it all over.
10. Take a plastic wrap and cover the bowl with it.
11. Leave the bowl in a warm place or in an oven for next 90 minutes or until dough become double in its size.
