Belly Rules The Mind

I am a big time foodie. Whenever I travel to different and alien regions, I find pleasure in trying the recipes which belongs to these alien places. Food is the identity of a region, food is the culture, food is the trend and food is the pleasure.
Now, I am in New Delhi, and trust me its the paradise for the foodies. Go in any corner of the New Delhi and you will find delicious food. I was in Laxmi Nagar, and I saw Bihari food stalls, making pure Bihari food, then I was in Tilak Nagar, and they were cooking hardcore punjabi food.
Non Veg Thali
But I discovered a restaurant of the year known as BEST OF DELHI which is located in pahar ganj near New Delhi Railway station. The non veg thali of this restaurant was awesome, tasty and totally affordable, with a high quality of food, and impressive service which makes you starving to come here again and again.
A non veg thali consist of aloo-shimla mirch ki sabji (potato-capsicum curry), chicken leg piece curry, curd, daal, chapati(bread), rice and pudina ki chuteny(mint paste) and lot and lots of onion. Mint paste is made by the combination of mint and curd, and then is served chilled, which makes its flavor totally amazing. I enjoyed eating non veg thali at this place, and for sure will give four stars out of five overall.

At famous doodhwala's (Milkman shop)
If you are coming to delhi, and you like to drink flavored milk, then for sure visit this milkman shop, which is located in Connaught Place in A block. This shop is running from past fifty to sixty years, and this shop has no name. Yes, you heard me right, this shop has no name. So, I decided to keep its name as DOODHWALAS. This shop is quite famous in Delhi, and it offers lot of variety in  flavored milk, coffee, ice creams, and few snacks. Basically, snacks are just an aid to the milk, but people come here for the tasty milk. Trust me, I was standing in a long queue of foodies like me, and finally grabbed 2 Litre of milk, and still was not enough for me. Prices are affordable and you will feel that in less than a dollar you get a quality drink.

Eating Pizza Sandwich at DOODHWALAS
I thought why not to try the snacks of Doodhwalas, and took a pizza sandwich. This pizza sandwich has complete touch of India in crust, over it nice tomato slices, melted cheese, onion on top of it. It was quite tasty to eat. I made few new friends, and they tried Paneer Kulcha, which is quite heavy food, and coffee in milk bottle. Don't laugh its true, they also serve coffee and tea in milk bottle.

After eating and drinking milk at doodhwala's the next destination was famous parathe waali gali at Chandani Chowk. Parathe of PARATHE WALI GALI is quite famous for its tasty parathe, and the most interesting thing is that, people from all part of the country come to this place to eat parathe here. It was quite hard for me to locate this place, as chandani chowk is quite populated place with lot of narrow lanes surrounded by buildings. From Rajiv Chowk metro station, we jumped into metro going towards Jahangirpuri, on that route there is Chandani Chowk metro stop. From there, we asked so many people, and they told us so many paths to reach that place, which made us more confused. But after lot of struggle we found parathe wali gali.
Eating mushroom paratha, which was totally yummy
There are four shops of parathas in PARATHE WALI GALI. The original shop is the one, which has board of sixth generation. You can find photos of celebrities of India with the shop owner, depicting how much famous that place is, but it is a quite small shop, nothing spectacular in infrastructure like any good restaurant but gives a feel of street food.
Eating Mushroom Paratha
I was with my new friend Sheldon, who was also in Delhi exploring things, and a foodie. So i got a good company. There were more than 105 varieties of parathas in the menu. I decided to try one Mushroom Paratha and one Paneer Paratha (Cottage Cheese Stuffed Bread). With paratha, you get sweet sauce, and aloo ki sabji(potato curry), and two other type of curries which I wasn't able to identify, but it was tasty. My friend Sheldon tried paneer paratha, and as he is from south India, he liked it. For me mushroom paratha was something new, and it was quite tasty.

Its so tasty that he is licking his finger
Other than these, I tried many type of street food in Delhi, on metro station, different corners of Delhi, and for a foodie, its a treat to be here in Delhi.

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity

The Battle of Longewala

After drifting for approximately thousand kilometers from Alwar, I have reached Longewala. This place romanticizes me allot. The battle of Longewala a legend in itself. It is located at 120 kms from city of Jaisalmer. Only way to reach this place is boulevard and if you are tourist then you have to hire a cab. Longewala is prevalent because of the illustrious skirmish tussled between India and Pakistan in 1971. The clash of Longewala is all about how hundred odd men clogged and overwhelmed approximately 2000 Pakistani legionnaires. This battle was all about the audacity, impetus, chauvinism and drive to prizefight exhibited by those eighty Indian warriors. This scuffle is one of my favorite scuffles, and whenever I come to this place, my mind start envisaging how horde of men repudiated the destiny. During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, A-Coy of 23 Punjab had taken up the defences at Longewala. The A-Coy company commander was Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri later on emer...

IS THIS TRUTH OR ANOTHER COMEDY BY PAKISTAN ARMY????

Kashmir War 1947 - 49 By November 1947 Auchinleck, Supreme Commander based in New Delhi, being convinced that Indian Cabinet was seeking to destroy and undo Pakistan by economic and military means, was forced to resign. As the build-up of Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir continued, Pakistan Army units were being hurriedly organized and equipped without any base for manufacture of ammunition, signal stores, equipment or vehicles. Simultaneously, Pakistan National Guards were raised from ex-servicemen and other volunteers along border areas to provide a second line of defence. By February 1948 Indian build up in Jammu and Kashmir reached five brigades plus, under two full-fledged division Headquarters. Our 101 Brigade, commanded by Brigadier Akbar Khan was rushed into the critical front to forestall and halt the Indian offensive along Uri-Muzaffarabad axis. In April 1948, Commander-in-Chief Pakistan Army appreciating the threats in the north along Muzaffarabad-Kohala...

INDIAN AIR FORCE ADOPTS 'GO GREEN TREND'

Mission Accomplishment Paramount Even as IAF Initiates ODS Alternatives in Weapon Systems The Indian Air Force (IAF) is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to combat ozone depletion including limiting the use of Halon to mission critical uses, tighter control laws and incorporating accountability towards phase-out of ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances) said Air Chief Marshal PV Naik while delivering the inaugural address at the two-day International Workshop on ‘Benefits of ODS Phase-out in Defence Forces’ organized by Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), today. Air Chief Marshal P.V. NAIK While highlighting initiatives taken by the IAF, and encouraging alternatives, the Air Chief however, clarified, “Mission accomplishment remains paramount for the Armed Forces. Substituting an ODS would only be done, if it doesn’t impinge on operational effectiveness of the system in question.” For new weapon systems in the pipeline, inclusion of a clause in RFPs for provision of alter...
